Management system according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 in a research laboratory: requirements of this standard and practical aspects of its implementation (basic course)
Who is invited?
The course is addressed to employees of universities, research institutes, inspection services, companies from the R&D sector, as well as students who want to broaden their knowledge and gain additional competences in the field of management systems implemented into research laboratories.
Programme
The course is focused on management systems in research laboratories, the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, the requirements of the Polish Centre for Accreditation and the conditions of working in an accredited research laboratory. The detailed programme:
Day I
- Why there is a neccessity to implement management systems into research laboratories?
- Introduction into the Management System in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”?
- Presentation and interpretation of the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard: terms and definitions, general requirements, structure requirements, resource requirements, process requirements, management system requirements
- Certification versus accreditation – the most important differences
- General rules that need to be followed to obtain accreditation.
Day II
- Practical workshop on design and adjustment of testing procedures to fulfill the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard
- In particular defining the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard in terms of the organisation structure, resources, processes and management system on a practical example of the research procedure prepared by the participants, including a discussion on, among others, supervision of equipment, monitoring of the facility and environmental conditions, handling of test objects (preparation, storage, and transport), providing necessary technical records, methods of confirming the validity of results, data supervision and information management.
General Information
The training will be conducted in small groups (up to 8 people) in the Research & Development Laboratory of IFB UG & MUG (20 Podwale Przedmiejskie street, 80-824 Gdańsk, Poland). Each participant will work on his own under the supervision of our specialists in order to obtain the necessary practice. The courses will be conducted by experienced academia teachers, employees of accredited R&D Laboratory of IFB UG & MUG and practitions in the field of ISO standards. The participants will receive certificates confirming acquisition of the practical skills.
